WASHINGTON, DC — President Obama has vetoed a move by Congressional Republicans and their leaders to attack clean water at a time when the stakes couldn’t be any higher.
In response, Dalal Aboulhosn, Senior Washington Representative for the Sierra Club, released the following statement:
“President Obama stood up for clean water by vetoing this toxic resolution at a time when the nation’s attention is focused on the perils of polluted water to our most vulnerable communities. At the same time, Congressional Republicans know that they have scored points with their big polluter allies by passing what is in reality a toothless resolution everyone knew had no chance of becoming law. President Obama deserves praise for once again helping ensure that all Americans have clean water.”
